What happens after I speak with an intake officer about my complaint?

A charge is filed after department staff review your information and determine that you have a jurisdictional charge. At that time, staff draft a charge of discrimination. You must have your signature notarized on the charge form and return it to the department for filing within the one year period allowed for filing. The one year begins running from the date of the alleged discriminatory act.
