Listed below are some current and past partnerships and projects.
The League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions (LMHRC)
About the League
The League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions, founded in 1972, is a coalition of local human rights commissions that have been established by charter or ordinance in communities throughout Minnesota. The League is the only private, statewide organization concerned with opposing all forms of illegal discrimination and with enhancing the rights of all groups of people defined by the Minnesota Human Rights Law.
While its member commissions are public agencies, the League is a private, non-governmental organization. The Board of Directors consists of 20 members, who meet monthly. For information about local League of Human Rights Commissions by location, visit the League's web site.
For information on starting a new commission, contact 763.535.1051 or email outreach@leagueofmnhumanrights.org

Human Rights Day Poster Contest
Since 2006, the Human Rights Day Poster Contest has engaged Minnesota youth to think about a particular human
rights topic, discuss the topic with their peers, teachers and parents,
and depict in art form what they think the issue means to them
personally, and how it effects communities close and far. View
winning artwork from past contests in the Youth section.
This contest has been sponsored by the Human Rights Collaborative which includes: MN Department of Human Rights; The Advocates for Human Rights; University of Minnesota Human Rights Center, MN League of Human Rights Commissions; Advocating Change Together (ACT); and Tolerance Minnesota.

This is My Home
This
is My Home is a joint initiative of the Minnesota Department of Human
Rights and the University
of Minnesota Human Rights Center, as well as
numerous other organizations and community partners throughout Minnesota.
The goal of the This is My Home Tool Kit is to integrate and simplify
human rights education in K-12 schools statewide.
The three primary objectives of This is My Home are:
- To engage all members of the school community in creating a learning environment in which everyone can grow to their full potential with their human rights and human dignity upheld;
- To motivate all members of the school community to take responsibility in promoting and protecting human rights, so that student achievement, development, and performance can thrive;
- To develop new tools for sharing and monitoring emerging human rights education practices.
